Men doing ministry with and for men and the community--that's what Men's Ministries is about. We are more than the traditional "Breakfast Club". Men's Ministries is just what its title says: about ministry. At Andover, we periodically hold breakfast meetings at the church, but at the same time, we share our personal testimonies. We come from various social and economic backgrounds, but our love for Jesus and the desire to be of service in our church and the community is a powerful bond.

Award winning author Lee Gugliotto, Ph.D. is coming to present a “Christian Lifeskills 101” workshop, May 21-23, 2010 at the Minnesota Christian Men’s Retreat to be held at Lake Beauty Bible Camp! The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association awarded Lee a Gold Medallion, the equivalent of an “Oscar” for Christian writers, for his Handbook for Bible Study (Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1995) proclaiming it the 1996 international, interdenominational Bible study book of the year! Since then, he has written Bible Study Basics (Equip-Enable-Empower Press, 2004), and a fantastic series of QuikStudy and Simplified Empower-tools for small group and personal study, including the highly acclaimed, Ring around the Rabbi, and How to Lead a Home Bible Fellowship with Christ in Charge.

"A Search for Relevance" (How to have a dynamic relationship with Jesus Chirst): The 2009 Minnesota Christian Men’s Retreat was held May 15-17, at Lake Beauty Bible Camp near Long Prairie, Minnesota. It was a wonderful opportunity for men to relax in Christian fellowship, meet new friends and enjoy a time of solitude away from the stresses of daily life.
Guest speaker Herb Larsen, Jr. From billionaires and Hollywood celebrities to street derelicts, Herb has made it his passion to lead the lost to Jesus. You will not want to miss hearing the dynamic testimony of a businessman who has changed his primary motive for being in business from that of serving-self to serving his friend Jesus. Herb says, “Your personal testimony is the most powerful thing that you and I have for winning people to Jesus.”
Herb grew up an Adventist preacher’s kid, went through church school, academy, and college, gave his heart to the Lord, wanting to do great things for him, but didn’t know Jesus. He got involved in church as a young adult, but nothing exciting was happening in his life. Herb now states that his life has exploded with “Wow” relevance since finally giving in to letting Jesus take control. No longer simply a verse found in the book of Philippians, “I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me” has become the motto under which this layman lives his action-packed life. In addition to sharing Jesus everyday with all those he comes in contact with, Herb maintains a heavy international speaking schedule as a lay-revivalist to many different denominations.
Herb owns a successful industrial design engineering and manufacturing firm in British Columbia, Canada. He is also a freelance writer, artist, and musician, composer, and arranger, a master gun engraver, and wood carver, and gives all the glory to God.
His sermons have been broadcast around the world on both television and radio with a flood of people finding fulfillment in life through following his down-to-earth practical presentations of “How to have a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.”

"Victory in Christ": The 2007 Minnesota Christian Men’s Retreat was held April 20-22, at Lake Beauty Bible Camp near Long Prairie, Minnesota. It was a wonderful opportunity for men to relax in Christian fellowship, meet new friends and enjoy a time of solitude away from the stresses of daily life.
Guest speaker Cheri Peters, shared her inspiring story of being born to two teenage addicts and growing up unwanted and abused. She shared how she personally encountered God and her life changed. Today, Cheri has a degree in nursing, hosts a worldwide television and radio program and has authored two books. In addition, she developed True Step Ministries, an organization that reaches out to at-risk individuals.
