Women's Ministries

Andover is home to a diverse group of women, representing various age groups, cultural backgrounds, talents and experiences. Women's Ministries provides an opportunity for Christian fellowship outside the traditional worship hour. Activities are designed to minister to the needs of women in today's fast-paced world. Invite a friend and become part of our supportive network of women.

Current Items of Interest:
"Bags of Love" Project:  Women’s Ministries organized an all-day Sewing Bee at the Andover Church on Sunday, March 25. Over a dozen church members and friends participated in a newly formed outreach to assist Andover County Child Protective Services in providing support to ”meth orphans.” Andover County removes over 170 children from their parents each year due to meth-related arrests. The children leave personal belongings behind, and are placed with relatives or put in foster care.

Andover Women’s Ministries agreed to become part of a county-wide “Bags of Love” outreach. The children need personal care items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc., immediately. These donated products are collected in small handmade bags that are in turn placed inside large handcrafted duffel bags called “Bags of Love,” and distributed to children in need by Child Protective Services. The Andover Church is committed to supplying each child with a “Bag of Love,” consisting of a large stuffed animal, a handmade blanket (provided by Women’s Ministries) and numerous age and gender appropriate articles (toys, games, books, etc.), along with the smaller bag of personal care products.

Women’s Ministries will continue to hold monthly Sewing Bees to stitch the large duffel bags, small personal care bags, and make a fleece blanket for each “Bag of Love.” They need assistance with providing stuffed animals, toys, games, etc. to fill the bags, along with purchasing personal care products. Women’s Ministries also has an on-going need for blanket fleece and fabric donations.
