1 Timothy 2 Timothy Titus
Anger and resentment result from something deep inside of ourselves that demands others to listen to what we have to say. What are we to do when we desperately want someone else to hear us, but that other person either refuses to listen or simply cannot understand what we are trying to say? We have a choice. God hears you, and we must rest in that knowledge. Only God can create hearing in another person, and when we try to force someone to hear us, we are playing God.
Please consider the following verses from 2 Timothy:
- 23 - Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.
- 24 - A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.
- 25 - Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.
- 26 - Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.
