A change of course this Sabbath. We have not completed Psalms, so we are going to cover half the Psalms we have remaining.

There is a natural tie-in to last week's lesson. Ephesians 5:19 says, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."

The psalms of ascents are songs that pilgrims sang as they came to Jerusalem for the annual feasts.  They would catch the reflection of the sun as it glistened from the temple and break into song as they climbed the mount.

In this spirit, let's read:

PSALMS 120 - 150

Also, in the spirit of Ephesians 4:15-16, "speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work," read the following Psalm, but not as a quick read:

PSALM 133
  1. How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
  2. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes.
  3. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.  For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
God Bless as you make melody in your heart to the Lord.

Paul
